The emptiness of our pockets should not hinder us from giving to others. Our generosity becomes more sincere when we share to the point of going beyond what is convenient for us. Rather than simply giving things that we no longer need, we can also help by offering our valuable time and presence.

It's easy to do good to those who are good to us. Examining our motives may reveal that we are driven by the expectation of getting something in return. But God asks us to be true givers, to be especially generous to those who can't repay us. We are asked to favor the least, the lost, and the last.

GN: Small deed can yield much grace

Those who seek to please the Lord should not be concerned with great and magnificent deeds. God deals with us in a manner that's quite different from our system of trade. The grace given to us does not depend on how much we do. Amazingly, even our little ways of loving can yield much spiritual profit.

GN: Do concrete acts rather than mere words

Our good intentions amount to nothing if they remain locked up in our heads. The genuine love that we itself most fully through concrete acts rather than mere words. Today, let us reflect on our relationships. In what ways can we be more expressive of our love and concern to others?

GN: All of us are called to be preachers of God's Words

All of us are called to be preachers of God's Words. We do not need to deliver lengthy homilies or sermons. It is through our everyday lives that we proclaim the Good News. Through our acts of forgiveness, encouraging words, and helpful gestures, we make Christ more real for those who are seeking Him.

GN: Be Generous

When Jesus miraculously fed five thousand, somebody had to give up five loaves and two fish. The miracle wasn't possible without the generosity of someone in the crowd. We're also invited to actively participate in God's miracles through our generosity.

Lord, let me be the channel of your loving deeds.

GN: God provides for us

No loving parent can resist responding to the needs of one's child. Authentic love is always concerned with the well-being of the beloved.

In the same way, our God is actively aware of our real needs. Our God provides for us constantly.

GN: Be More Generous

True justice isn't simply giving to each what is due him or her. The Lord ask us to reach a higher goal. As true disciples, we must ensure that our neighbor possess what they really need in this world. To be truly just, we sacrifice and give a part of ourselves, not merely our surplus.
